There was a commencement ceremony, on March 21, for the second stage of the Changsha Design and Research Institute’s Kaiyuan project, in Khammuane, Laos. The project is for a plant with an annual potassium chloride output of 2.5 million tons, from carnallite resources. Liao Pengfei, assistant to the president and chief supervisor of the project, joined Niu Guanghui and Lv Zhong, project supervisors, and design personnel for the ceremony, on behalf of the institute. This is the largest Chinese-backed potassium chloride project overseas, with the largest potash fertilizer production internationally. The project will give strong support to domestic demands for potash fertilizer.
